Location:

The Nook is based in Clachan Seil, on the Isle of Seil, 25 minutes south of Oban, across the famous ‘Bridge Over The Atlantic’. Seil is one of The Slate Islands, alongside Easdale, Luing, Shuna, Torsa and Belnahua. We are based right opposite the Sound of Seil and the island’s nine hole golf course, which famously includes a hole that involves hitting your ball ‘across the Atlantic’.

The local brilliantly stocked shop is a few minutes walk away, and there are two excellent pubs a few minutes drive in each direction - Tigh an Truish, based right next to the bridge, with fantastic 2AA rosette food and drink in its restaurant and pub, and The Oyster which has a stunning beer terrace overlooking the sea. The island of Easdale is round the corner - just a five minute drive and one minute ferry journey - which is home to another great bar and eatery The Puffer, as well as the famous slate quarries and World Stone Skimming Championships.

There are various beautiful and interesting walks within minutes of The Nook, including one right over our back fence, where you can see the view below after a few minutes walk to the top of the hill! There are fascinating historical sites, beautiful gardens, nature reserves and other islands all nearby.
